Throughout her career, Dr Collins has demonstrated a commitment to academia. In 2010, she was awarded a Master of Surgery. Her fellowship training in Sydney was supported by the prestigious Dr Richard Steven’s Scholarship and Ethicon foundation grants. In addition to international and national prizes for research, she was also awarded the Federation of the European Societies for Surgery of the Hand travelling fellowship. At present, she is a Clinical Senior Lecturer with the University of Otago and enjoys her role in training and inspiring future generations of plastic surgeons.
“As a plastic surgeon, I see a broad range of clinical conditions affecting patients of all ages. It is truly a diverse specialty and every single day is different.
